Overview:
The Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Logistics (ODASD(Log)) advises the ASD(S) on logistics policy and strategy across the Department of Defense. It oversees supply, distribution, transportation, property management, and logistics program support. The office develops policies, drives operational improvement, ensures auditability and accountability, monitors performance through metrics, and provides governance and oversight of logistics activities, including the Defense Working Capital Fund and Commercial Support to Operations. We are seeking candidates with the following skills and qualities:

Responsibilities:
- Front Office and Executive Support: Prepare daily read-ahead materials, manage records, provide talking points for senior leadership, compile weekly and significant activity reports, maintain contact and distribution lists, support congressional reporting, legislative review, audit response, align and report on strategic plans, and manage website/social media communications.
- Policy and Issuance Management: Maintain and update ODASD(Log) policies and issuances, review and analyze proposed changes, draft recommendations, manage issuance development, conduct policy research, and provide monthly status reports.
- Process Mapping and Business Process Improvement: Create, update, and maintain business process maps and enterprise architecture, develop end-to-end process maps, ensure compliance, and document processes.
- Standard Administrative and Analytical Tasks: Draft correspondence, presentations, and reports; manage tasks in CATMS; develop plans of action, timelines, and project plans; support audits; maintain SharePoint/MS Teams; support boards and committees; analyze tasks; conduct research; and prepare briefings and memorandums.
- Policy and Regulation Development: Analyze internal and external policy proposals, draft and recommend updates, ensure compliance with laws, implement approved changes, coordinate with issuance managers, and recommend process mapping.
- Directorate-Specific Support:
- Supply: Support policy, governance, and program management; analyze practices; propose improvements; track key programs and events.
- Transportation: Support policy, governance, and program management; research and recommend procurement and process improvements; provide metrics; manage special requests.
- CSO: Develop and maintain doctrine, policy, and processes for OCS, VTM, and PSC; support governance, stakeholder engagement, and reporting.
- Surge and Special Studies: Conduct surge studies, deliver reports and briefings, and assemble subject matter experts and resources for special projects.
Required Qualifications:
- Must be willing to go on-site in Alexandria up to 5 days a week.
- 5+ years’ experience in front office support.
- 5+ years’ experience updating policies, mapping processes, ensuring legal compliance, and preparing reports and presentations.
